The company made its debut in New York City in 1978 with its owner, Roger B. Lima, initiating the aircraft trade business by buying its first aircraft, an ancient 1964 Cessna 172 for $5,000.00.
The original company was named Interstate Aircraft Sales and operated from a New York City’s office located on 5th Avenue and 28th Street. It was active buying and selling small aircraft, single and twin aircraft until the middle of the 1980s when it began trading in Turbo Props and Jets.

In the mid eighties Roger was exporting through Interstate Aircraft about 60 aircraft per year to Brazil and South America in general. That trend continued thru the nineties. By the end of 1987 Roger moved its operation to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to facilitate its exports to South America since Florida was the Gateway to the South.

The company operated briefly under the name of Private Jet Management for a couple of years thru a partnership with that company. In 1990 Southeast Jet Sales was newly formed and the new company, also based in South Florida at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport, carried the Turbo Prop and Jet business thru today.

In 1991 Southeast Jet Sales made an association with Sierra Industries of Uvalde, Texas to market it’s new Aztec/Longwing program. SEJ provided Sierra with its first two Citation 500s for Sierra’s newly acquired STC, the Aztec Mod. The Aztec Mod name was then changed to the Eagle Mod.

Over these past 24 years or so, Southeast Jet has sold close to 700 aircraft of all types, makes and models from Cessna 172s thru BAC-111, including Citation, Challenger, Hawker, Falcon, Gulfstream, Sabreliner, Learjet to King Air, Turbo Commander, and Cheyenne of all types.

The Cessna Citation aircraft has been the most active of all the company’s markets. SEJ has bought and sold over 100 Citations 500s, 501s, 550s and 650s.

Southeast Jet has accumulated, over the past 24 successful years of operations, the necessary experience to make the Acquisition, Sales, Operations, Maintenance, Management, and Financing of aircraft an attainable dream for the first time or seasoned customer.
